Translational Neuroscience Lab

Translational Neuroscience Lab is run by Dr. Devin Binder and his students at the University of California Riverside. My task was to create a website for Dr. Binder and his bio-medical students where they can display their research on Glial-Neuronal Interactions.

Information Architecture

The translational neuroscience lab is for the students to showcase their research on finding new ways to treat neurological diseases.

The site was organized so that it explains what the medical students are researching, who they are, what they have published, a place to donate, and various techniques they use in their research.

UX

It became clear during the UX phase one of the most important objectives was finding a way to to explain the research to the viewer.

Instead of using regular captions with images, we wanted the user to become involved and interact with the site to find out more information.

Design

We had some leeway regarding the design of the site. Our plan was to make it stand alone from Dr. Binder's clinical site, which was more conservative in nature. We went with a brighter color pallette to attract the user's attention, but also use neutral colors to not over power the content.
